Pato Pallo, Rest in Peace

Well everyone, Pato Pallo passed away yesterday... I think it was just to much for her to handle with the surgery and everything. It was a good, short life though and I think she will have a great time in heaven with two working legs! : ) Today is beautiful, a little cold but sunny and not a lot of wind. It is siesta so I thought while I had a few minutes I would say hello to everyone and hope your Monday is going well! I forgot to post our beach ride pictures from a couple weeks ago, so later tonight or tomorrow I will post those. They are really great, and I will have more coming around Christmas time! Chat with you all soon!!

Hey everyone!!

Hi! So sorry I haven't done a new post lately, it has been SO cold here and I haven't wanted to be outside much to be online and make a new post. I am doing really well, still trying to get prepared to go to freezing cold Ireland! It has been below freezing here at night lately, and pretty cold during the day with wind which makes it feel a lot colder. The humidity here is also always really high so it seems way colder than it is. These are the pictures of Abraixo and I at our lesson! He did really well and I tried to be as calm as possible; he is so sensitive to any type of body language, so he gets nervous really easily. After my lesson was over, I was so relieved that I yelled "WOO-HOOO!!!" and he totally freaked out and took off a little bit, which I thought was so funny because I am so used to my horse and her being so used to me doing random things like that, I did not expect him to care at all! Apparently yelling around him is something we need to work on. Next week the family leaves for Germany, so Julianna and I are going to be fully responsible for this place for a week! It should be really nice though weather wise, and we are doing a beach ride on Christmas so I am really excited for that. It is so weird not being home for Christmas, but we are making a delicious dinner with Steffy so it should be very yummy! All the horses are good as well as the pigs, goats, geese, chickens, cats and birds! Today we went out on a ride and I rode this 26 year old mare who was a trot racer, and she is still in really good shape and is SO energetic, it was really fun and I think she enjoyed getting out as well. Tomorrow is my day off so I have lots of laundry to do and the apartment to clean, but I will definitely be helping Julianna because we had to bring the horses in tonight since it will rain all night and tomorrow, so she has quite a lot of stalls to clean. I am finally completely healthy again, I was sick on and off for 3 weeks which was so annoying but I am feeling really good and basically back to normal. I hope everyone is getting excited for Christmas! I honestly cannot believe how fast the time has gone by... Anyway I am getting pretty cold outside so I will take plenty of pictures next week and definitely post a new blog sooner next time! Love and miss everyone!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Have a wonderful Merry Christmas!!!! : )

~Our day off~

Hallo all, I don't have many pics to post tonight, but thought I would post a couple from Julianna and my day off yesterday. It was unexpected to be able to take off for a couple hours, but the family here decided to leave for the day and said we could take a break, and we still had Steffy's car to use, so we went out and drove around! The weather was unseasonably warm, about 70 degrees and sunny! It was so amazing. The first pic is the sunset at the beach, they are usually better but it was kind of a foggy day... still gorgeous though! The rest are at these beautiful places, Porto Colom and Cala Figuera. I took a couple 'creative' pictures for fun towards the bottom. It was a great day and I am seriously getting spoiled with the weather here! Today we had another 65 degree day with sun and quite a bit of wind. Julianna and I had to make a couple fences for the horses to move them to areas with grass since the pastures and paddocks have been eaten down. We also rode earlier today and this afternoon I rode Abraixo preparing myself for our lesson tomorrow! Julianna will take pictures, so watch for those soon. Other than that, still enjoying every day and getting prepared for Ireland soon! Thanks all of you who look at my blog! I can't believe I have had so many pageviews! I hope you guys have a great rest of your day, I am off to bed to start early again tomorrow morning! Miss everyone lots and lots!

Julianna and Malli's big island adventure trip!!!

Lots of new pictures! We began our travels last Sunday and got home Tuesday night. Bummer for me, I got a cold the first night we were on our adventure : (  It was still so awesome though!! So, the first one is the hostel we stayed at in a town, Sollier. I fell in love with that town!! So beautiful and quaint, and very nice people. The second pic is of a church in Soller. The third is of the awesome streets I was driving on and how small they are! It is so fun passing people on those roads, especially big trucks and bicyclists. The fourth is Soller with the daily trolley passing through. The fifth picture is our sweet little Peugot rental car! Really fun and easy to drive. The sixth is just another picture of the crazy streets and the shudders are either doors to homes or windows. The seventh is this random picture I took when we were driving this unbelievably crazy road at almost dark to this lighthouse at the most northern tip of Mallorca. The picture is of these random stairs going nowhere right next to a complete drop-off into the ocean!! The eighth pic is yet another of how steep the roads can be. I guess I am just amazed at what kind of roads they have! I love them! The ninth is of Julianna and I at a disco-tek bar that we went to with a waiter and his friend that we met in Soller. It turned out that they both didn't speak a word of English, so poor Julianna had to interpret the whole time! It was fun to get out though with new people, English-speaking or not. Tenth pic is of this totally random cat we found on the side of this cliff that was SO sweet and totally looks wild in this picture! I am all about saving animals, but this cat was pretty plump and seemed well taken care of, somehow or another. Eleventh is of Port de Pollenca, and the twelfth is how far above we were from that same port after driving 5 minutes! Thirteenth pic is wild mountain goats we found! Okay, they may not have been wild but we are pretty sure they were since they did not have any bells or spray paint on them marking them owned. Fourteenth is the market in Arta, this awesome little town that had wonderful roasted nuts, beautiful scarves, and really, really nice people. Fifteenth is Alcudia, where we stayed the second night. We were going to stay in a monastery, but LONG story short, we did not find it after walking 20 minutes in pouring, pitch black mountains because our little Peugoet could not make it up steep, slick hills so we had to park it and hike. Quite an experience I must say!! Sixteenth is Cala Rajada, where we had amazing hot chocolate, and I mean REAL chocolate that was like boiling in the cup it was so hot, and was a cute little town with lots of boats and locals. The last picture is for my mom! It was this giant rooster decoration in the middle of one of the thousands of round-a-bouts they have here. She loves roosters for those of you who don't know... Anyway, even though I was sick, the weather could have been a little better and we climbed a mountain in the dark, our trip couldn't have been better. It's all about experiencing new, interesting stuff!! I hope all of you guys are great! I will post pictures of me riding Abraixo probably later next week! He is still my most favorite guy and makes me so happy every day I work with him! Love ya guys : )
